Medical Ethics for Real Life
Gloria M. Rivera
(3.0 CCHI CE points)

In healthcare interpreting, Ethics and Standards of Practice set the environment for the practice of our profession in the United States. They help us tell right from wrong, guide our professional behavior, and avoid situations that can get us in trouble. Unfortunately, there are some situations when applying these ethics and standards of practice is not as easy as it seems or that may make us look like “the bad guys”. During this 3-hour language neutral workshop, we will review the main Ethics and Standards of Practice and CA’s Standards for Healthcare Interpreting. Then, we will apply them in practical, real life scenarios where we will figure out why we are making the correct decision and how to carry it out.
